How to MIDI map my Traktor Kontrol F1?
Posted on: 31.03.2013 by Yong Celestino
Hi everyone,

I recently bought the Traktor Kontrol F1 and I know it's meant to be used in combination w/ the remix decks, but I thought you could also map effects and hotcues to the Kontrol F1's pads. I can't seem to figure it out however.
I hoped you guys could give me some tips on how to do this.

You must dig into mappings and create custom one that suit to you workflow. Or, look into DJTT mappings page or Traktorbible to find any mapping already available that do the job for ya.

I've read the manual, and I've tried to MIDI map it. I go to Controller Manager, as Device I select Generic MIDI, as Inport & Outport I select Traktor Kontrol F1. Then I go to Add In and select a function to map, and when I hit learn and press a pad on the Kontrol, Traktor says it's assigned but when I proceed to hit the pad, nothing happens. The pad also doesn't change color when it's assigned.

Read the manual. There is a good tutorial in it to get you started. You should do that first, then do the MIDI mapping, imo.

You should check pages 111-113 of the english user manual.
