I really like touchable as an app and it is very well thought out, better than lemur for controlling ableton... However I just don't find myself using it or any of the other ipad apps I've bought. I just don't believe touch screen interfaces and anything I've used are really that great in practice, which is a shame since I want them to be.

This should change yours and everyones mind...

How did u do this?

It's way more powerful than TOSC, depends on your needs if the pricetag is justified or not.

I have FLStudio Mobile and Glitchbreaks. Despite using FLstudio for years, I don't find the the app intuitive at all. The sample importing is tedious. The effects are lame and I'm not a fan of the sequencer. What do I expect for $20 though? I was believeing about picking up Beatmaker 2 to see if I like the work flow better. Glitchbreaks is fun, but seems gimmicky. I need to give it more time.

Yeah - I haven't tried it that way, I just connect over my wi-fi (on PC using Apple bonjour print server) and ad-hoc when on macbook - the latency is fine for a secondary controller that way.

But yeah you can use the camera connection kit I believe.

I have the camera connection kit, a USB to MIDI cable... and an S4. Theoretically, I should be able to combine those for direct MIDI control shouldn't I? Without having to set up an ad-hoc and all that hoo-ha

Yeah the superknobs are cool - when you mix them with the X-Y pads you can have some fx fun that just isn't possible with a physical controller (off-the-shelf types I mean)

It's really too bad that both the iMPC and traktor Dj are incompatible with audiobus

I use djay and Traktor DJ personally, didn't really get on with DJ Player though it has a lot of potential.

Production apps:

- Beatmaker 2
- Grarageband
- Animoog
- Sunrizer
- iKaossilator
- Figure
- Samplr

TouchOSC w/ Live Control is really cool, if only they could implement a browser!

Anyone tried the DJ Player app w/ class compliant MIDI controllers? I wonder if iPad Traktor will support controllers in the future?

Decent list there. Keep checking freeappfinder or similar apps to pick up stuff for free. I got the DM1 for nothing a couple of months back.

Beatmaker 2 is great. So is impc.

Impc is great if ur used to the workflow of an mpc. If not, it can b a bit tough. Still... Both apps are very cheap for what they feature.
