best dj headphones for under 100$?
Posted on: 12.04.2013 by Carlyn Greeson
hey i'm looking for the best pair of dj headphones i can get for under 100$. I'd like some good sound isolation so that I can protect my ears when volumes from the master get relatively high. Portability is always a plus and durability is nice too any suggestions?

Isolation is basically, keeping outside noise OUT of the headphone
and at the same time, keeping the INSIDE noise inside the headphone

Protection is, just that
If you have really good isolation, yuo wont be POUNDING your headphones so hard that you will damage your ears.
And for the love of god, take a minute each day and try to learn how to do full mixing in headphones with no monitor

Trust me.... when it comes to shitty sounding dj booths, youll be happy you learned this.

I started out that way, and almost every time im in a booth with a dj monitor, i shut that off or turn it facing out to the dancefloor

i realized i do much better without it

i've heard they're really tight and are not very good for djing a gig (especially doing the one ear on one ear off style [constantly falling off]) is what i've read

Isolation is how well they keep outside noise out. Ear protection relies on keeping outside noise out.

So headphones with good isolation will protect your ears well.

i had a pair made by KOSS for 9 years. There were around $45 back in the day.
You can still find their brand.
And they still do carry a lifetime warranty on the cans.
If the black layer over the foam breaks down or the foam starts to come off,
the replacement is free. They just sent you the parts.
awesome.
I used them for gigs for 9 years, and beat the HELL out of them.

Also, my fav part is when they say "Around the ear" they mean it
There is nothing touching your ear at all when wearing them

The one thing that drove me to them is all the others said same thing but you can feel them pressing
against the earlobe or cartilage. These dont
