Bi-Directional MIDI communication for Deckadance?

I have been trying out Deckadance 2 (beta) and one of the things that irritates me is that Decadance doesn't send MIDI signals back to (at least unsupported) controllers. Since Decakadance is able to operate as a VST Plug-in, I would believe that Ableton might be able to "help" Deckadance out by launching Decadance as a VST inside Ableton and using the Ableton to send MIDI signals back to the controllers. Has anyone tried this? Are there any pitfalls to doing this?
