CDJ-2000nexus, suddenly PLAY button won't work, "Needle" flashing on screen..
Posted on: 16.04.2013 by Kandis Smollen
Hey guys, so very randomly, one of my CDJ-2000's stopped allowing me to use the "Play" button.. it just seems like it does a super quick stutter, and the small "Needle" red light on the screen flashes.. when I hit the cue button, it all seems to work fine, until i release cue again.. can anyone help me out here? Thanks!

EDIT: it seems to work again once the other deck has stopped completely.. what gives?

i'm glad you have so much free time in your day that you could do that instead of helping out several community members..

by now, not only myslef, but also jakeintox and hellnegative have asked you to submit something constructive or to stay away.. i admit i posted RTFM questions in the beginning, but that was because i was so excited to finally get things up and running.. the internet's a vast place and typically, community s are filled with people who frequently answer these kinds of questions..

i haven't made a post like that in some time, and now every single fucking time i log in, with a simple question, i have to deal with your fucking insults and lack of support..

And those are just from the last TWO threads you started. Seriously, learn to read or sell your gear. DJing requires effort, and you seem very reluctant to make any.

At first I helped you, so did a lot of other folks, but by now it comes across as plain laziness.

You don't want to read manuals, you don't want to google, you don't even bother trying your gear before posting another thread.
You don't even want to set memories in RekordBox. There is even an app on OSX that can convert your Traktor cues to Rekordbox cues and you didn't bother to look for that. You simply posted another thread.

Why in Gods name did you buy your kit?

At the risk of being contradictary, I've stopped replying to some of these basic DJing questions which come across as 'tell me this', 'recommend me some music' etc etc, when it's quite clear the poster either hasn't searched the community , bothered to even attempt to RTFM or heaven forbid - done a bit of self learning and reseach in advance.

It comes across as 'I want to be a DJ because it's cool, but can't be arsed with the learning bit'.

If it does the super quick stutter with flashing needle, you're in a loop. That's the only thing that would create such a result.

Am I 100% certain? No. But I am 98% certain you've somehow activated a micro loop. Just loop exit, or cue-point around. Consult the manual or Pioneer support is always a good idea too, it's their product and they'll know exactly what's wrong.

If you mean stutter mode, I doubt it... he's already asked that.
Augustine Mitzen
16.04.2013
that shouldn't prevent playback though (unless something is drastically different, but the CDJ mode works the same as 200/100s doesn't it?)
Alphonso Deitchman

Sounds more like the micro-loop that all Pioneer CDJs produce when Jog Mode is set to CDJ.
Augustine Mitzen
16.04.2013
did you try pressing play when holding the cue button down?

this looks like the same problem you're having

So don't read his threads.

Beautiful trolling, btw, you derailed this thread with like, 5 words.

I havent run across that prob before man. Anything you were doing ahead of time? Were the tracks prepared in RekordBox, how is your thumb drive formatted? Are you using multiple directories or a flat file structure? What bitrates and file type?

My biggest question tho is, Was it the cdj with the thumb drive in it or the one without it.
