Broken numark cdx-fixxed forever...

Ok,
lets start with the 5 numark CDX's i bought on ebay, all sucked, perhaps one worked for 8 mins, some for 30 mins. The kats i bought them off of when i complained said 'just keep it',rather than get a bad sellers mark.
So in my studio i had 5 CDX's.I even tried switching this part with that one....nothing.
then the updates....nothing. So almost a year or so later a friend of mine,an electrical engineer asked "Yo J,what are those star-trek looking turntables you have against the bottom of your floor?'-so i tell him that my plan was to learn 'Arduino' and maybe one day get em to work. And if not, worse case, hang em on my wall as an 'art piece'.
So my buddy asks if he could take one home and tinker with it.im believeing, shit, they dont work,so what could possibly happen.
2 weeks pass and the phone rings and its my electrical buddy.he says :" so i got your star trek turntable working,i was gonna swing it buy after lunch."-i was stoked but a bit skeptical cuz i have 'fixed' em,but only to have them die mad soon.
later that evening he brought it by....and it worked perfectly,i even turned it on and off, waited a few days, and it still bangs.i asked him what he did.-he said that it was SUPER EASY'-the whole unit was soldered inna knot that shorted all kinds of relays so that the most important part "the brain" would get mega confused. he asked what something like this cost and i told him.he was floored that such a high price product would be so mangled.in his own words "it was like a ball of twine with a CD player connected built by a 3 year old".As far as the CD spitting out,he said that was most likely from the confusion of the signal route, but maybe, doubt it but maybe it could of been the actual CD unit, but he extremely doubts it.
so,if you own a Numark CDX,and like it as i do with its midi in capabilities.find an electrical engineer to set it straight.forget Numark,i bought the cable padding,pointless,3 new CD drives, pointless.and all the old CD drives work on the one he fixed.so....he said he would fix one more for me,so i have a set.and when i told him he could make a lot of money fixing these, his reply was "j ,im 68 years old,i have known you a very long time.i worked my whole life for Boeing, and i really just wanna enjoy my retirement with my Sally.-'Sally is his wife name and she is a goddess/
i truly hope you find this story helpful.sorry i cant fix yours, but Ebay has em mad cheap, and if you find the right guy, someone could be making bank.
p.s. he didnt even but one extra part, jus untangled,re-soldered and did it properly.
thanks for reading fellas.
