Kontrol S2 + DJM900
Kontrol S2 + DJM900 Posted on: 21.04.2013 by Jonah Mozeleski Hi! I wonder if I could do this... Traktor Deck A to channels 1/2, B to 3/4, C to 5/6, D to 7/8 on the DJM900 internal soundcard (USB), and if I could use my Kontrol S2 just to control decks A + B, just for loops, play, cues, etc... Could I do this? | |

Adrian Zadrozny 24.04.2013 | Get an X1 or two. Use that as your controller. Much easier and more useful in crowded DJ booths. Trying to squeeze an S2 or similar controller in between the CDJ's won't always work. You can use the built in 900 soundcard with it.. Be sure to pick up an Audio 6 or used Audio 4 (possibly cheaper) incase you encounter a club with a DJM-800 or below. You could easily sell your S2, get an X1 and used soundcard. This is what I use with my DJM-850. I have an Audio-10 (yes overkill I know) on backup incase the club doesn't have a DJM-850 or higher. Kosta X (OG Wizard on here & on the decks) made a custom CDJ-Emulation map for the X1. It mirrors many of the CDJ-2000 features. I have been using this mapping since early October with ZERO issues and play out many evening s a week. PM me if interested will send you the .TSI file. |

Sylvia Greener 21.04.2013 | I've been believeing of a solution of that kind as well. Using a DJM 850 pioneer mixer with its nice effects and so on for mixing but routing audio inputs from Traktor to the Pioneer mixer via USB and receiving audio the opposite way via USB and besides, using the NI S4 as kind of "CDJs" (Play, Cue, Sync, beatmatching with the S4 jogwheels and so on). So if I understand the initial question of this thread and your answers correctly this would work, right? (Just want to be absolutely sure ) Thanks! |
Alphonso Deitchman 21.04.2013 | Drivers are on the Pio website here: http://www.pioneer.eu/uk/products/44...NXS/media.html |
Jonah Mozeleski 21.04.2013 | Oh o.O I'll bought the DJM900 this week, does the package have the drivers? Or will I need to download them? |
Alphonso Deitchman 21.04.2013 | Don't forget to install the DJM900 drivers if you haven't already |

Alphonso Deitchman 21.04.2013 | Yes, there's no problem using a different sound card combined with the S2. You won't be able to use the S2 faders though. |
