Just seen this guys and girls.

What are your opinions?

I would personally prefer them to work on the issued with the iPad Version...

I am correcting you on your statement that you have to use sync and the use of the recommended playlist, because on the former you are incorrect and the later the statement is moot.
Awww you're adorable, Karlos. I could listen to you split hairs to make yourself feel vindicated all day.

But when there's no option BUT sync, your software is automatically finding tracks for you to play, the EQ is hidden away on another page, and all of the controls are set up to be delicate movements, how are you being expressive? Literally anyone could spend an hour learning this thing and be just as expressive as Carl Cox would be with this.

Maybe some day touch will be how we select tracks, or maybe XY pads will get big... But for everything else, touch is nothing but a gimmicky bad idea, and will be for at least the next several years.

This is not the new version of the "laptop DJs aren't real DJs" crap. We're not talking about mediums here, we're talking about physical interaction with your gear. You're never going to be impressive on an ipad or an ipod, ever.

Depends on who you believe "matters". I have used the iPad version at gigs for months and I matter, well, to me at least. Certainly to my crowds. I did a 4 hour gig with the iPad and loved it. Just rocked up with my iPad and Audio 6.

If you mean big super-club DJ's, who cares if they use it?

There are millions of bedroom DJ's who will enjoy it. Many of the people posting in the TDJ community at NI do not have ANY other dj products at all let alone Traktor Pro.

Pity they didn't make it a universal app so those of us who have already paid for the iPad version could just download it ... Yes I know it's only AU$5.49 but it's the principal of the matter!

I know that at that price for just the iPhone version it'll sell a bucket load ...

...

And I just hit buy ... It's installing now ... That little blue bar is almost done ... And now it's done

iPad and hardware would be my choice also. A hardware crossfader is something that this old dog needs to be confident when DJing but I have used the iPad alone and it's a breeze (despite me checking the position of the xfader every 10 seconds).

I have a half hour set at a rather special 'do' coming up in a few weeks and I will be using TDJ and iPad.

I could definitely choose and perform a good set from my music collection with the iPad app. I'd prefer to use hardware for the EQ and faders, so iPad + hardware mixer would be my preference, but iPad only is viable (and in fact is probably what I'm going to use for an impromptu party next month).

Feature wise, the only thing I'm particularly missing is some kind of pitch bend.

They are doing. They are working on it all the time.

We all know NI aren't in a hurry to do anything. New stuff will come to the iPad version but not any more slowly if they weren't working on an iPhone version as well.

More good stuff to come to both.

Well I found the A/B split routing pretty whelming, so I was glad they released it. Had a good old mix with my Urei mixer last evening
