Adding Mic Input to Mixer? Posted on: 14.05.2013 by Migdalia Donovan Hi!Looking to get the Mackie Onyx 820i mixer (http://www.mackie.com/products/onyx820i/) but may at some point need 4 Mic XLR inputs. Is there an adapter or anything that can be purchased to add a mic input? If so will it impede quality? Thanks! | |

Gene Maksym 15.05.2013 | As makar1 said get a slightly bigger mixer or you could get a preamp that has 1/4in outs to go into the 5th channel. In the long run it'll be cheaper to get a mixer with more preamps on board. |
Glendora Demeza 14.05.2013 | Depends on the application. If you had two mics going into one channel you may have issues with signal gain. With that mixer you can use channels 5 or 7 (in mono) you would just need to supply your own preamp and come out it with a 1/4" cable. |
Alphonso Deitchman 14.05.2013 | Just get a slightly bigger mixer? |
Nedra Fresneda 14.05.2013 | You would need to add a mic preamp as well, you can't just plug in a mic in a line input, even if the connector is right |
