Picking a Producer Name.
Posted on: 27.05.2013 by Catrice Halwood
Haha i know this isn't a "real" thread but i would like you guys to help me pick up a good producer name. My friends have told me to use Leinad because my real name is well...Daniel. But i'm not sure if it is a good name tho. Right now i'm deciding what genre to produce. I'm in love with progressive and electro house but i also love dupstep.. sooo yeaaah...

I regret even giving myself a name haha. Your music will give you a name eventually if you delve into it that far.

Like Xone said, focus on producing first, not your name.

The great thing about sites like soundcloud is that you can always edit your account name and URL later (soundcloud.com/whatever). Just make a placeholder name to start out, make some tracks, ask for feedback, then when you're confident in your own stuff, change your name or start a brand new account with some quality work you're proud of.

A lot of people base their name on their style, which may change as you learn. Wait until you figure out what you want to do before you are dead-set on a name.

I like Leinad. It reminds me of a Russian cosmonaut for some reason. Although nad is short for gonad.

Pick two names and then do some A/B testing. That way you'll get a data driven decision.
