Music blog recommendations?
Posted on: 20.06.2013 by Marcelina Hanaway
I've recently discovered music blogs. I know, I know - old man over here. I play deep house, nu-disco, and indie-electronic stuff. Any recommendations for good blogs within these genres?

I use hypemachine if I run out of stuff on themusicninja. It's a good site, but it doesn't get updated frequently enough (top 50), and the constantly updating list is full of bad stuff.

Continuing the theme of shameless self-promotion

I run a blog called PassionateDJ.com, though it's not a "music blog". It's informational... discussion on how to become a better DJ through passion and purpose, information on new gear and technologies, DJing as an art form, and so-on.

For the sake of relevance, here's one of my posts called 25 Ways to Find Good Music Online.

As mentioned, Hype Machine is a good start.

Detroit Techno House I'm kinda partial to it. LOL.

IMO, Indie Shuffle is the best music discovery blog there. Both the web and mobile app platform allow you to play music, from the "indie" side of any number of genres ranging from Chillout and Ambient, to Indie Rock, Hip Hop, and my personal favourite, Indie-Electronic/Indie Dance.

Thank you, kind sir. I came across The Hype Machine, but that just looks like it's going to take me on a never-ending journey through musical time and space.

themusicninja is my favorite. Covers all genres (little trance though). They post up a lot of new and young artists before they get big too so they're good if you want to drop songs that people haven't heard before.
