Best tutorials on scratching/beat matching with Turntables?
Posted on: 09.07.2013 by Dia Laryea
I'm recently getting into mixing with Vinyl, not to mention I have a pair of Novation Dicers and an Audio Interface on my way so I can finally begin, but I can't seem to find any reasonable tutorials on scratching/beat matching when using Vinyl on turntables.

Anyone know of any that are good? Thanks!

With the utmost urgency.
Have you read that book? Was it helpful and informative?
Yes I have. Yes it was.

I still refer to it all the time. It has EXCELLENT diagrams, making it all very easy to understand.

A little bit of searching on this community will give you these answers:

Youtube-ellaskins
Dj Angelo
Qbert scratch U

Google search of "dj tutorials" or "scratch tutorials" will give you the same answers. It would help immensely if you looked in the cdj/vinyl community here.

DJ Angelo does some nice ones. Also you can get them on a headshell shaped USB.

Actually, here I looked em up for you. I couldn't see stabs but stabs = cutting except you push the record forward instead of letting go.

Chile is an amazing scratcher (2011 WTK World Scratch champion) and he has really good fundamentals.

For even more basic stuff youtube "qbert diy" and videos should come up. I would stick to chirps and stabs for now, those are the bread and butter of scratching.
