Best traktor controller 2014
Best traktor controller 2014 Posted on: 06.01.2014 by Many Farnsley I know there are other posts about this in the past. But i am just curious as to what people believe is now the best controller for traktor. I feel the s4mk2 has a huge amount of issues, and honestly see no worthy improvements over the s4 mk1. Maybe if it actuallly worked with new ipads i could see a benefit. I am trying to figure out what traktor controller to get, I had the numark 4trak, and the traktor s2 mk1. I want it to be somewhat portable, but also good quality. I am actually leaning towards the s4 mk1 maybe I just dont know. | |
Rosanna Kozer 11.01.2014 | What did you dislike specifically about your numark 4trak? I used to have an S4 but it got stolen and I replaced it with a 4trak but sadly I find myself not very happy with it… I can't even really figure out why, it's a decent enough controller but I'm beginning to consider selling it and moving on or just sticking with traktor scratch when i play out, maybe get an X1... |
Matt Kane 07.01.2014 | vci 100 se? going to be the best controller for the next upcoming years |
Hulda Ramprasad 07.01.2014 | If you want Traktor reliability then it's either the S2 or S4 because they're Traktor-native. Why would anything else be more reliable when it has to rely on MIDI for Traktor integration? If the S2/4 MK2 are suffering from 'issues', then you can sure NI would be working on these. My opinion, is always go native with your controller / software combination. |

Stanley Peckman 06.01.2014 | X1's totally yes, seen everywhere. Anyway to be positive, I thought the IOS 7 issue was fixed now? I used to have an S4 and I've always found them to be reliable...... apart when switching back and forth with a mike on Channel D. If the question is what is the best controller for Traktor the answer is probably the S4. The new model will eventually prove itself; its a different chip set and I'm sure future versions of traktor will show a bigger gap between the Mk1 & Mk 2. If you can afford it they newer unit will have greater longevity, mind you I'll say that again in 18 months when the Mk 3 comes out. |

Alphonso Deitchman 06.01.2014 | That goes without saying for all gear
. There shouldn't be an issue with using another controller that's the same model as your own. I've read through many S4 complaints and have never come across that particular issue. |
Vikki Falkenrath 06.01.2014 | yeah, but, I mean, regardless the versions and etc. I've been told (before mk2 existed) that you should not trust a new controller (in that case, a new, random s4) to use on a gig, because it may simply not work. Does this happened to anyone? Or anyone heard of it |
Alphonso Deitchman 06.01.2014 | You need to be on Traktor 2.6.4 or newer for the Mk2 to be recognised. |
Vikki Falkenrath 06.01.2014 | I've heard that it's not recommended to use random s4's on gigs (like ones the club may have) because traktor sometimes simply doesn't recognizes the new s4 and the controller becomes useless. So I ve been told that one should always use the same own S4 to play. Does it happen? |
Alphonso Deitchman 06.01.2014 | The iOS 7 issue isn't limited to NI from what I've read. Several other MIDI/audio apps recommend staying with iOS 6. |
