Michael Cullen's BPM Log I'm off to BPM in about an hour, and thought I'd keep you guys posted over the next 4 days for those of you who can't attend!
Updates will start flowing at speed tomorrow morning from 10am onwards; I'm performing in the Denon DJ competition (thanks to you guys), but the rest of the time I'll be checking out the stands and seminars, as well as keeping an eye out for any new or updated products of course
This will be a PHOTO HEAVY thread, and when I get back I should have a fair amount of video for you guys too |

michael, any chance you can get some info on the reloop keypad? interested in the build quality mainly.
The keyboard section feels... well... keyboardy, which to me isn't a good thing (I prefer fully weighted stage pianos/master keyboards), but the unit itself is solid and the pads are awesome. Kinda a cross between MPC pads and the ones on the Reloop Contour; they have a satisfying click when depressed but they're also velocity sensitive. To me, having that click is important because it gives you tactile/audible feedback that you've actually hit the key. They're also backlit so the transparent sections (edges and little number squares on the pads) light up when hit.

A lot. The RP-6000s are already expensive, these will be moreso.
But my god is it worth it.
They're basically 1200s but with a custom variant of the Super OEM motors, and a metric fuckton of MIDI controls on them. I'm gonna get some proper photos/video tomorrow, but EVERYTHING Reloop have brought out today is just mental.
Take the BeatPad for example... ignoring the fact it's iPad-compatible for the moment, they basically took a Jockey 3 - which I HONESTLY thought they couldn't improve on - added the even better jogs from the TM4, backlit them with multicolour LED rings a la CDJ2000s, added some mini performance pads with different modes, rejiggered the layout a bit, and ended up with something EPIC. Oh, and it does EVERYTHING it says on the front panel with just an iPad. It's literally insane.
I'm still pissed they didn't release a Contour MK2, but there's always NAMM...
Anyway, apologies for the lack of pics today; I had my first heat for the Denon DJ competition at 12:30, which I won and made it through to the final My other half recorded it on her phone, so will be uploading it when I get back home for you guys to see
Unfortunately, I was up against three other AMAZING guys in the final, and the judges said it's been the hardest year ever to judge. I didn't win, but got some fantastic compliments from the judging panel and only one bit of criticism (not enough looking up at the crowd), so it was a fantastic experience nonetheless |

I cant believe they are the first to integrate midi. Im seriously interested in how much they will cost. Look sweet and with an 11kg motor they will match technics easily. |
Neville Blackinton 15.09.2013 | Congrats! And thanks for posting |
Barton Rigazio 15.09.2013 | Hey man if you could fill us in with some of that Reloop Beatpad action that'd be tight! |

Hellen Mindrup 15.09.2013 | Nice work m8 |
Trevor Domigan 15.09.2013 | Reloop has been doing really well lately IMO, sad though no 4channel controller was announced. Regarding the RP-8000, you guys are talking like it's something new, but by the looks of it (http://www.reloop.com/reloop-rp-8000) it's the same Super OEM as the previous ones in Reloop, Stanton.. Etc. Love the pads though, if I wasn't sitting on Stanton str.8 150's I would definitely get these ones! Way to go Reloop! |
