Yong Aptekar 17.09.2013 | I bet you could keep a record in the plastic sleeve inside the cover, bury it for 50 years, and dig it up, and it would still play. 8track, cassette, reel to reel, cd or mini disk? I believe not. |
Bryon Taglieri 17.09.2013 | I have some super thin pressings from the seventies when the oil crisis made vinyl expensive, I love collecting it don't often play it anymore but did for years when I use to be a working dj. It maybe just me but I believe of all the music which will be lost to next generations if it does not get discovered via physical media, I love the fact that I have records which are 50 years old and still play on the same gear
as something made yesterday. I can see why new bands and groups what to have stuff pressed on vinyl it's a chance for a little immortality. |
Nancey Inderlied 17.09.2013 | I believe the word "lossy" has become kind of like Barack "Hussain" Obama. A stupid scare additive put in by idiots for no reason other than confirmation bias. |
Yong Aptekar 16.09.2013 | It was illegal in some countries for a while to make vinyl records due to the chemicals involved. That's why records for the 70s and records from last week feel different. |
Hanna Ridenbaugh 16.09.2013 | Interesting. I've recently just started purchasing vinyl and love it. The most fun and connected to the music I've had djing ever. Still a lot to learn though. The comments on that article are quite funny, but there are some enlightning ones to. It would be sad if vinyl became obsolete. |
