So i guess this kind of music is a cross between deep house and maybe some slowed town trance.

It had a very "Eric Prydz" style and sounds VERY polished.

But I never considered it deep house, it just has something more to it. What would you call it?

BTW the bass in this track is FAT!

I have been into this Deep/Prog House sound since the 90's. I don't know if any of you are into Angel Moraes stuff. He was my favourite DJ/Remixer of the mid 90's.

Here is his classic track, a homage to the Sound Factory in New York. Big chunky bass lines, spacey vocals projected into long reverbs, and echoing synths and Hammond organs. I LOOVE it.

Obviously when it's played off vinyl on a good system the highs are crystal clear and the bass big and fat much more than it comes across on you tube

I went to see him at The End around 1995 and I was just in heaven. You needed to hear him on a great sound system.
Nice one Timbo

Angel Moraes and his Hot n Spycy label were superb, big fan of Heaven Knows and I Like It.

Definitely a different style though, which I like that kinda glitchy disco sound.

The Jayteck music podcast used to be all about this style of music, although that has changed slightly recently.

I had the pleasure of seeing Jody Wisternoff in Perth a few months ago and it was one of the best sets ive ever seen. He is a fucking cool guy as well!!

Check out all of the Anjunadeep albums. Anjunadeep 4 is my personal favourite. Jaytechs mix on that album is the epitome of the tunes I like.

OP might find some nice tracks in this mix.

Thats actually my style of play. Which I usually call real progressive house or deep progressive house to people. I build up from there from my sets to harder progressive house (Prydz style). Check out Silk records, great progressive house label that puts out some solid prog house.

Anjunadeep, IMHO, as said earlier tend to straddle that line between what I would call Progressive House and Deep House. I really like the new Jody Wisternoff mix he's done for them, particularly his remake of Skanna's classic 'This Way'.

The current trend, and rising in popularity, over the last couple of years has been the widening scope of the use of the Deep House term, specifically with fat basslines, early/mid 90's House synths and nods to early UK Garage ala Eats Everything, Huxley, Bicep, NuPanda Recs, Simma Black etc etc etc. Personally as a House head, I'm really in to it and sits alongside the more traditional Deep House sounds such as Large Music, Freerange, Adaptation Music, Peng, Nightgrooves as well as Soulful House.

I'm just pleased to see House Music getting another good airing to the more mainstream listener, and the quality has been pretty good too. Has always been bubbling away in the Underground

Yeah you might be right about Prydz, What I meant was Pryda since that is his Prog. House alter ego.

And I like this kinda music a little better than modern deep house, because the modern stuff, is a little light on good synths and too heavy on vocals for my taste.

I assume that beatport puts this in deep house now though.

Man I so miss real progressive house. It was the first real sound that I got addicted to.
