LED lighting options

I'm currently building a custom DJ table. My design incorporates backlighting frosted plexiglass to spell out the technics logo. Having no experience with lighting i wasn't sure if the LED strips would be bright enough as they seem to only come in single rows. Buying a solid light increases the price pretty quickly but is still an option. The light will be completely enclosed in a 42"X12"X10" "box" so appearance isnt an issue. I just want to make sure the plexiglass is lit up evenly ( not bright in the middle dim at the edge). Also would like to know some good places to shop for these sort of things. Thanks for any advice/ suggestions, thanks!

Either this or this would do the trick. Check ebay for a deal on a used one.
