I own a TTX1 and the tonearm is very stable and doesn't skip. Not sure where you got the number...

Don't even bother, the tone arm is the real problem...

7 out of 10 players have 'movement' (don't know the correct English word) in the bearings and it's not possible to adjust / fix

thanks for the link, but that fix is for the optical sensor. the lcd display works fine meaning no problem with the sensor. i am strictly having a problem with the start up of the platter

This chip replacement is pretty straight forward, you just take the deck apart 'till you get to the chip itself which is under the heatsink on the motor board. You then desolder the IC chip and resolder the new one into place with lots of thermal paste. I own a TTX1 that had these problems and it actually had the vents already under the platter, but still had the problem with starting up and keeping high torque. Replacing the IC chip has proven very successful and I'm glad I did it because I prefer scratching on the TTX then to my 1200s. A guide can be found on skratchlounge if you google "TTX1 Mod".

Just double checking... You made sure to adjust the dial over the left-hand start/stop button, right?

As for the heat vent mod, it's pretty simple. You just remove the plate underneath the platter, and drill a bunch of holes over the part that covers the processor.
