Did you configure your audio ins and outs in Traktor?

No, Jamthrax is right - there's no need to buy a sound card here. Each of the CDJ-850s has a USB sound card in it, so you would be better served by hooking up the CDJs like you would normally (via analogue RCA to the mixer.) To get traktor to be able to use all the CDJs as outputs you'll need the CDJ aggregator ( http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/4...850/media.html ) which will let you combine them all into one virtual device. Traktor will output the sound through the RCA jacks on the CDJ and you'll be able to play with them like normal.

Looks like you don't have the Pioneer CDJ850 drivers installed and configured. I don't know the specifics of that (hopefully someone else can enlighten you) but Pioneer's drivers apparently aggregate them all into one audio device. You're going to need that to get the sound to work, since you can only specify one audio device at a time in Traktor.

really not sure what you're asking. do you want the knobs on your mixer to control the stuff on screen?

I read up on the CDJ aggregator for windows (sorry, I assumed it was the same over there) and it says the drivers have that functionality built in, but you have to install the Pioneer CDJ drivers first.

your DJM has RCA ins on the back. The CDJs have RCA outs on the back. You plug those into each other (CDJs to Line inputs.) Plug the USB from both CDJs into the computer. In traktor, configure deck A to output on channels 1 and 2 of CDJ 1 (this is where I'm sketchy, you'll have to select the CDJs as your sound device, and beyond that I'm not sure what the output routing screen will look like. I'm on a mac, first, and haven't used the sound cards in my CDJs for HID mode.

The effective net result is that the CDJs should control decks A and B on traktor, and audio should be output through the CDJ's normal RCA outs into your mixer. From that point on there's no effective difference between using the CDJs as players or using them as controllers. Mix as you normally would. Is there something I'm missing here...?

can you draw me how it should look as i cant understand how this would work this way , i know my cdjs have a built in soundcard when i use traktor it works with them just not the mixer

if you're trying to hook up 2 CDJs over something like traktor scratch and then back into your mixer you're gonna need a 4-in 4-out - while you're working with 2 decks, each deck uses 2 channels (left and right.)

if you're using the 2 CDJs in HID mode (sounds like you are) then you're only going to need 4 outs, though you'll probably find them paired with 4 ins on any DJ-oriented sound card. send the sound out over that interface, with each deck's out assigned to a pair of channels (deck A on 1 and 2, deck B on 3 and 4) and plug the RCA outs from your interface into your mixer where you would have plugged in the CDJs. Also, you can set Traktor's mixer mode to external so you don't accidentally close a channel on your computer with the keyboard and wonder what the hell's going on. Then you should be able to use the CDJs to control Traktor while controlling levels, eq, etc. on your normal mixer.

I use turntables so not really had experience setting this up. I am pretty sure that you can just plug your CDJ in to your computer via USB and just the HID mode. This means you will not need to buy a sound card as it uses the CDJ's inboard ones.
