F5U237v1 Belkin USB hub that did not do well with my S4 Good Evening Viewers, Esther Rantzen here. When I first picked up my S4 I used a completely generic 4 port hub that frankly looked like it came out of a Christmas cracker. It did not have a power supply either. I recently upgraded to a $50 Belkin F5U237v1 7 port USB 2.0 hub: http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPa...duct_Id=158910 Since bringing it into my setup I have had non stop issues with the S4. NOTE: The S4 USB cable was plugged into a separate USB port on the laptop itself. Thanks to Weltraumpapst for pointing out this ommission of this detail in the original edit of this post Playing 2 tracks was maxing out my i7 CPU backed up with a generous 8GB of RAM. So, I uninstalled the generic hub drivers from device manager and rebooted the system with the old USB hub and TA DAR all is well again. I am posting this as I have seen numerous people mention that they are looking at this hub. I will add that the problems I saw were on my system with my hardware and software configuration. Others may report that they have this hub and have experienced no issues. Given how stripped down my OS is, this hub should be regarded as Questionable. OK, now for a segment with a dog on a skateboard followed by a story about a parking attendant who charged Mrs Robinson from Essex 400 quid to park her goat for a mere 23 minutes... | |
