That's great! Anyway you could write up or video what materials you used and how you did? I wouldn't mind taking a crack at this DIY project.

Got almost all the parts for the stand yesterday. They costed about 25EUR from the local shops. Will start working on it for the next (hopefully) 2 weekends

Great thanks for the amazing idea!

@Mannyromano, I used textured carbon vinyl. But you can also treat it and paint it with the color you like the most!! hehehe! I chose'd the harder way, because the vinyl is hard to bend in certain places, but I just liked the effect!

@fluxtronik what are you using as a finish/cover for the tubes?

Thank's allot you guys!! Glad to see you've liked my ideas!! hehehehe!!!
I was'nt planning on making another one, but perhaps I can show you what you need and how to put it together.
As aswer to Loop, the bycicle locks are the ones used to lock the weels, the thing is they're a bit too small, so I bought a big screw pole, the ones used to hang the ceilings, and a union. To unite it all, I've used copper unions, the ones used on plumbing, and souldered them. Ill show a piece souldered so you can have an idea.
Maybe Photojojo is right!! I'll maybe make a post just for the stand, and maybe like that more people can give more ideas on how to make it.

Great thanks fluxtronik!

All clear on the decksaver - it gives a small angle of the S4, but that's just great!

The custom made crane is simply amazing. It looks very good with the carbon finish!

What are you using as bolts between the two ends of the cylinder constructions? The bicycle seat brackets are clear, but the you also need a large bolt and I was wondering if you made something custom with a lathe or used something stock.

it'd be great if you record a video of how you disassemble the stand in pieces, BTW.

Dude, your video has potentially saved me something like 100EUR!

Chapeau!

The secret for non scratching the decksaver when it's under the S4 are 4 litle silicon bumper stickers, the ones you put inside kitchen's doors so they don't hit too hard, and also prevents from slipping! It' a very good fit, but first you've got to put another 4 off these silicon stickers on the bottom of the s4. I'll try to maje some photos and post them so you can see how I did it!! I can tell you that I've bounced allot on saturday, and it didn't move from it's place not one time! Heheheee

you use it for elevation? That's great. I was wondering if it can be used this way

does it fit well this way? is it stable - it's not very flat? would it get a lot of scratches if it sits beneath the S4?
Josephine Foody
15.03.2011
Well! I've noticed that they're not the best zipper's in the world, so you've got to be carefull not to fill the bag too much or you're going to have problems zipping up!! But for the price of the bag we can't ask for more!! Hehehehehe

^I also have the novation bag and it fits great in there with the decksaver but on a side note...do you ever have any problems with your zippers on your novation bag?

Decksaver is just great! It look's like a piece of cheap plastic (lol), but it's sturdy! Appart from keeping my S4 away from dust, it helps saving all the knobs wen I put it into my novation bag, and also this weekend I've had a gig, and I used it to raise the S4 to match my partner's mixer.
In my opinion, money well spent!!

Yeah I usually try to keep the decksaver on top of my S4, I have to tilt one of my speakers over to turn it on/off and one time it fell about a foot on to my S4 and slightly bent the volume fader for channel C! just a quick bend back with some pliers and all is well but ever since then I just try to keep the decksaver on it lol
