s4 sound cutting out during play

I've just got my S4 setup today however when running it makes a static clipping sound and cuts out for a second. Any ideas what it could be, seems to happen every 5 mins or so

There is no reason why your PC should not run S4 perfectly well if you have followed the tweaking tips/installed USB HotFix/Beta Drivers/adjusted the buffers.
This, I typed the same thing but decided not to go there as we've said it far to many times. Even if there were 1000 people yelling about how their S4 doesn't work in Windows it would be far from normal compared to the number of S4's sold.

Sounds like you have the Buffer set too low and the cpu is reaching its limit causing USB drop outs.

What do you have you sample rate set to and what buffer have you got set?

Try raising the buffer and stress test it, if it still happens raise the buffer again untill you find a stable buffer size.

Hope that helps

You can get new drivers for your S4 in Service center. You also need to make sure you installed the 1.0.1 software update and calibrate your jog wheels.

If your using a pc this is normal, same thing happened to me i didnt reserach enough and has no idea this would happen during mixing. Go through all the old community s and you will find 100's of posts of people trying to solve these problems. with the new beta driver and some pc/cpu adjustments you can get it to run without these pops and crackles just go through djtt and NI community s and ull find the info, goodluck!
