send midi data out with s4? Posted on: 20.03.2011 by Porsche Pilliod prior to the s4 i was using an xponent and using osx's built in "audio midi network" utility to send midi data out over a network to a friends computer so i can could trigger video samples on his computer simultaneously while triggering audio samples in traktor on my machine. i know by default the s4 isn't in a midi mode, but even when i switch to midi mode, i cant seem to send midi data over the network like any other normal midi device. to work around this i am temporarily using a korg nano pad mapped to the sample decks in traktor and this works great. i just want one less piece of gear does anyone know if i can do some configuration in traktor to get the s4 itself to successfully send midi out? thanks and hope this makes sense! | |

Kecia Wnukowski 27.05.2011 | and you may have to use the controller editor (external software) to set up the midi messages sent. However you'll see that the shift buttons and deck select buttons won't send messages. |
Keva Sheward 27.05.2011 | If you open up MidiPipe can you see midi coming out of the S4 locally in midi mode? I've had an issue a couple of times where I lost midi from the S4. I had to unplug the S4 then delete the S4 as a midi device in the OSX utility, replug it in and then rescan for new device. |
Leeanna Ayla 27.05.2011 | You can download the TP2 demo and try it out. It should be fully functioning, it just shuts off after 30 minutes. |
Porsche Pilliod 26.05.2011 | have there been any findings on this? maybe with tp2?? |

(basically just need to be able to use midi learn to assign buttons on a different machine) works great thru the "audio midi setup" utility with any other midi device ie. nano pad, midi fighter, xponent. is it possible to do this without putting the s4 into full midi mode? thanks!!! |
Leeanna Ayla 20.03.2011 | Not sure, are there any steps in this how to that might help? http://www.traktorbible.com/en/kontr...ng_two_s4.aspx |
