Issue With EQ Visibility
Issue With EQ Visibility Posted on: 26.05.2011 by Gloria Lemmel Hey All, I've had my S4 for almost 5 months now, and I'm really enjoying it, but my only gripe is that the EQs are literally impossible to see. One of the gigs (you could call it a residency...lol) is DJing all of my school's parties (every 2 weeks). I love these because I'm DJing for roughly 300 of my closest friends, there's a connection there. However, people like their dances nice and dark so that they can do naughty things and such, so my booth always starts with lights but ends without lights. I've used a book light before, but it's too bright, it kind of kills the vibe. Recently, I've been using my phone to check the EQs of the upcoming track, but that's so tedious and again, too bright. Does anyone have any secrets as to how they see their EQs? Maybe fluorescent paint on the white parts of the knobs? Maybe something else that you do? I'm believeing that the fluorescent paint idea would work, but I'm not too sure about how it would work. Tips? Tricks? Ideas? Share 'em Pl0x. | |

If you used a colored light would that make it better? You could try and get some colored gels (thin clear plastic) to tape to the book light you have now. Check with the theater department at you school and I bet you'll find some and you only need a small piece to cover a book light. You can even stack them to get the light darker. | Gloria Lemmel 27.05.2011 | Thanks for all of the ideas! @IrishBlaggard - I have a surprisingly dim book light similar to the ones that you posted and in complete darkness, It's still too bright. In response to everyone else, I'm going to use those colored films photojojo was talking about to make my current light dimmer. |
| Nedra Fresneda 26.05.2011 | This did the trick for me back when I had spare USBs.... Aim it really low (not how DJ SB is using it) and directly to the controller/your belt, that way it's less invasive. |

| Hailey Westen 26.05.2011 | why not simply use something a little less bright ? this has always been an issue for dj's, nothing new here, but your right, NI should of taken the visibility in dark areas more into account. some ideas |
