Buttons of my S4 broken

Buttons of my S4 broken
Posted on: 25.05.2011 by Jenifer Ballestas
Hi,

Last week end, I brought my S4 for a gig, but noticed the next day that 2 buttons of the loop recorder didn't work anymore (probably spilled alcohol).

When I press these buttons, they stay down as if there was no spring any more ...

Would you have an idea to fix that ? Should I try to disassemble my S4 or it's too risky ? (I don't really use the loop recorder, but I'd prefer to keep my S4 intact !

Thanks !

check to see if you have house insurance... you may be covered that way.

Your warranty is a manufacturers warranty so doesnt matter where you are in the world or where you bought it. The manufacturer is a constant - so far as i know.

USA warranty doesn't apply if you're in the UK I believe

Then you still have a warranty with Native instruments. That said if it had beer spilled on it then that won't be covered. You could probably still send it on and have them clean it, but I'm sure there would be a charge. Never hurts to ask though.

yep, opening will be pain in the ....' First day i had it left my window open and i was just out, damn rain all over my s4. Opened it up, sneaky screw under one of the stickers and poored the water out. When you open it you can't get on the side where you want to be. well you probably can but you don't see what you are doing to the side you want to get. I didn't want to take the risk.

Anyhow mine s4 was fine after a few days of drying.

Or get a foot switch for the loop recorder.

I'm on a small island so it's not so easy to work repairs out, but if you got the change just bring it back, and see what they can do.

I'd say leave it be. If you have an extended warranty that covers things such as spills, return it and get a new one, but opening the unit will most likely void the warranty, and I know of like 5 people who have even used the Loop recorder well. (Dub FX, Ean Golden, DJ Shiftee, DJ Endo a homie of mine.)
