slightly cheaper option for S4 flightcase in UK

Morning all!!

Just a heads up.

If you're considering a flightcase for your S4. Getinthemix.co.uk do a cheaper copy of the official Native Instruments case.

I've just had mine delivered today, & i believe it may be better than the official one. I've never actually seen the official one close up, but I do own Magma's VCI300 case which looks almost identical. ....do Magma make the official case for N.I?

Two things that I've noticed straight away;

1. The locks have also got fittings for a padlock.
2. There's space under the controller for power supplies / hard drives etc.

Very impressed, so far.

With this particular case you cannot leave the laptop inside. The lid will not close with a laptop on the stand.

1. Does the laptop stand simply slide all the way to the point of no return? Like, it disconnects (falls off) completely from the flight case with practically no warning? That is the problem with the original that stopped me from wanting it.

The stand has a stop on one side to avoid this happening (see bottom picture, you can see the stopper). I was worried about this also as like you I heard the official s4 case does not have this. So rest assured the stand will not fall off and take your laptop with it.

Yes. There's an extra bit of metal at the back of the right hand runner that stops the tray coming off all the way.

To be honest though, I may remove that. On my old VCI-300 case, it was quite handy to have the option to remove the tray completely. If you're working somewhere that doesn't have enough "front - back" depth for the case with the tray extended, it's useful to have the option to lose the tray & put your lappy to one side.

Was about to buy the official one this week but I believe I'll go for this one instead and save a few

they generally recommend you don't store your laptop in there.

Yeah there is enough room to still use the effect knobs. I didn't have the laptop stand pushed all the way back when I took the pictures.

Does it give you enough room to use the effects knobs?

I believe I need a case and an overlay stat!

Just got my case yesterday. The s4 fits very well. I will post some pictures toevening when I get home.

Could get some more pictures with everything setup and self contained in the case?

The only reason I want a flight case is if I can have it all completely setup in the case just plug it to power and go sort of thing.

Otherwise I'm just going get my self a set of velco rails and one of them dj ranking s bags with some new knobs to go on the S4.

PS I might switch out the big filter knobs for some regular ones. I believe I prefer to have the advanced filter going because it seems to have, obviously, more finer control...which just made me wanna ask...

Looking at the packaging, it's actually the case made by T.I.P (Total Impact Protection). Which shows up on quite a few different UK stores websites.

Get In The Mix seem to have the best price though! (free postage as well)

It also hasn't got the velcro straps. ....but I find these get in the way when the case is open, & I don't carry my lappy in the flightcase anyway.
