Hey everyone,

i might be getting an S4 soon but am looking around for additional Cd players or Vinyl or controller or anything to go with it.

I would love to see YOUR s4 based setup

I assume you run just one channel (main out) to ableton via jack osx or soundflower? I would kill to be able to route each deck separately to ableton but still use the s4 in internal mixer mode. No clue why they don't let you do this.

Your setup is very similar to mine. I like.

That one is my "Home station" where I do all the collection/beatgrid/remix and where I learn/try new software before dumping them in my laptops.

I already told... i'm a gearslutz... RGAS and all that One day I'll post the whole cockpit
Does it work fine?

...I swear i have about 15 different powered usb hubs and excuse my french... but they all suck!

Sometimes i end up using the S4 only just cause i'm too scared

In all my setups, I use the D-Link above or the following Vantec

19.05.2011		Each it's own workflow buddy. I'm not saying it's the best one, not that I'll keep it AS-IS either, for now I'm happy like that, and I agree it's overkill... but I like the fact I have everything available at once, in double or triple places

This is actually quiet nice. I believe i would do something like this ad i hate the idea of virtual decks, much better to have 4 decks in front of you than 2 decks and mixer with 4 channels. thought the x1 or lpd8 are bit overkill.
