A couple of S4 questions
A couple of S4 questions Posted on: 29.06.2011 by Fady Soliman Hi all,I have a couple of questions about the S4 before I buy: 1) How precise and at what incriment can you adjust the pitch faders if they are set to 10%? Currently on my EVO5, I have the pitch mapped to one of the encoder knobs and can fine tune to .01 bpm, pretty sweet! 2) If I choose to customize the S4 and set it up in midi mode are all the buttons knobs, faders mappable to midi? If not which are the ones that cannot be mapped? Ok I believe thats it. Thx! | |

Leeanna Ayla 29.06.2011 | The thing with the S4 is that the default mapping is really good. Plus you can do some custom user mappings and run them along side the default mapping. Here's a good rundown of how all that works. http://traktorbible.com/en/kontrol_s4_usermappings.aspx Here's some good user mappings http://traktorbible.com/freaks/mappi...?flavour=ProS4 Using the fx knobs on the S4 as super knobs http://traktorbible.com/freaks/mappi...?flavour=ProS4 Using the loop recorder as a super knob. http://www.djranking s.com/community /sho...=loop+recorder |

The jogs are less precise especially noticeable during slow movements. You also can't map the Snap Qant and Master buttons. |
Leeanna Ayla 29.06.2011 | It's early and I haven;t had much coffee yet, but I'm pretty sure you can adjust to .01 on the S4. As far as custom mapping you can map everything, but you lose the loop length display. |
Glennis Cartin 29.06.2011 | Cant answer the first question, but all buttons (and VU meters + the footswitch control!) can be mapped to MIDI, with the excepetions of the Deck A/B - C/D swap buttons, the shift buttons, and the master volume knob. In this case, the Deck A/B - C/D swap buttons and the shift buttons actually change the MIDI signal, meaning you can have more modifiers =D |
