New S4-midifighter-traktor problem
Posted on: 14.07.2011 by Chae Fugle
A couple days ago I updated to the newest version of Traktor Pro 2 (2.0.3).

Last evening I plug in my s4 to spin a set and import (big import button) instant gratification mapping for midi fighter. I then notice the buttons on the S4 weren't doing anything. I look at the controller manager and notice that the S4 user mapping got completely replaced. Tried adding the s4 user mapping and got s4 working, but instant gratification stopped working. Then I tried adding the S4 mapping by going through the setup, which worked, but when I try to import the instant gratification mapping it keeps replacing the S4 mapping.

At this point I'm believeing that it has something to do with the update. Luckily my friend was over with his laptop and un-updated version of TP2 so we plugged in the S4 and tried to import Instant Gratification mapping. Same exact thing happens. At this point I attempt to import other mapping just to see if they'd work, and at points I thought I got it going but when I started mixing, effects would turn on for no reason, random weird stuff would happen.

Now up until last evening I have not run into one hiccup with TP2 or the S4 and Midi Fighter, everything has always worked flawlessly. Now I'm no expert but I'm only have 2 ideas left as to what the problem could be.

1. Since the S4 screwed up with both updated version of TP2 and un-updated version, could the S4 driver be goofed up somehow?

2. Both of us run Mac OS 10.6.8. Could that be an issue.

Does anyone have any other ideas on what the problem is and what I can do to fix it. Thanks, -S

Noob question: What's the difference between big import and small import? I just bought my S4 & midi fighter so I'm still learning everything.

Are you big importing the instant grat mapping and then adding (small import) your s4? This should work.

Do you have a custom user mapping or are you talking about the default mapping? unplugging then plugging back in the S4 usually loads the default mapping for you. Maybe try to load import the IG mapping again and then do the plugging in bit with the S4.
