Scratch Upgrade - Noob to Turntables Question? So I picked up a Technics 1200 on ebay and I am really happy with the purchase. The unit looks and seems to work great. I just have one for now and I am planning on setting up a deck toggle button to switch between decks C and D for timecode and have decks A and B for use on my S4. I am having some issues though... not really sure if it is a big deal or not. But when playing a track on my TT the BPM jumps sparatically up and down +- 0.1 to 0.3% for every track I play. Although the track does not sound any different then it should. I was wondering maby if it was me balancing the tone arm incorrectly or if it is some setting within the software I can change. To me it seems that the tone arm might be OK. I followed some youtube videos on proper technique but I could be wrong. Also my traktor control vinyls that came with the upgrade seem to have slight bends in them. when looking at the spinning platter at eye level it is noticable. I was wondering if this is not too out of the ordinary or if it could be causing me problems. Since both vinyls with the scratch upgrade have slight bends I ruled that out originally. IMO they should not have any bends tho when paying for such a product. I am also waiting on my slipmat to arrive in the mail and as of now I am using a piece of plastic. It will due for now..I don't believe this would cause bpm variations...its only paper thin and seems to work generally well. I am a complete noob to TT's so any help would be appreciated. | |
