Intermittent inconsistency with loop recorder buttons and loop knobs
Posted on: 25.08.2011 by Julietta Mistretta
Lately, the loop recorder "size" button will only function when pressed hard and with a slight angle. The initial depress will not work, but if i keep pressing it and give it a little more and push a bit to the side, it then begins to work. The other loop recorder buttons have no such problem.

Also, the loop "move / active" knob (the left knob of the two knobs available for default looping) is acting up. I might set the beatjump size to 32, then turn it clockwise to begin skipping through the track. If you turn it one click, it moves forward 32 beats, next click another 32 beats, and so on. Currently, when moving the knob, you might "click" it once and it wont jump, then moving it ever so slightly but not another full click will then jump it forward. Basically, it feels like it isn't registering the click properly, so it's somewhat inconsistent right now.

Anyone else having similar problems?

The S4 is still under manufacturer's warranty, though I purchased the S4 and the extended warranty from Guitar Center. They are unable to process a claim for me to replace in store due to the manufacturer's warranty still being available.

If I have to ship to NI, do they function at all like Amazon where they ship you the replacement first, then you mail them back the problem device? Will they only repair initially?

I gig 1-3 times a week for cash and I'm rather unwilling to lose out on cash right now as this is my only piece of gear to gig with.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

you better have it returned now than later, it seems it's a quite common issue on those buttons (fx, loop recorder and the like).

that's a lot of bs from guitar center if you want my opinion, they sold the unit to you and should take care of any customer service issue. I just despise vendors who don't take responsibility over this.

No one has had anything similar to this happen? Thinking it might be dust related...
