Something a little odd started happening Posted on: 30.08.2011 by Charline Dye It's no big deal, but after starting Traktor as soon as I touch any button on the S4 the Loop recorder self activates. After I turn it off, it never happens again. Only at start up.It started doing this a couple of weeks ago, and nothing had changed. I tried reinstalling TP2 and the S4 driver, but no luck. Any ideas? | |

Registry: HKEY LOCAL MACHINE > SOFTWARE > NATIVE INSTRUMENTS > CONTROLLER SETTINGS Everything in the registry folder is there too. I would go through the uninstall again then manually delete the folders I mentioned. Open up Mamas good old run box and type regedit browse down the registry tree till you get to Controller Settings registry key then right click > delete. Note that all settings in the registry are instant and irreversible as soon as you do. There is no Save As and no Undo. Just saying that in case you happen to feel like going on a habour tour of your registry I have no idea if this will fix your problem but it will enable you really see if a true uninstall/re-install will fix it. Ok, back to watching for Canadians sneaking across the lake.... |

Rocco Fiveash 31.08.2011 | Always backup your registry before deleting anything. FYI |
Len Lukawski 30.08.2011 | Video's pretty much done except for the narration. Gonna be a week or two I believe - business travel scumming up! |
Charline Dye 30.08.2011 | Hey thanks for the great info Smitten! I'll give it a try and report back. I'm always lurking, usually daily. I just don't post that often. Can't wait for part ii of the windows optimizing articles! |

Charline Dye 30.08.2011 | A ha. I am not alone in this odd S4 behavior. |
Kecia Wnukowski 30.08.2011 | I do have the same happening, as you said, not a big deal, but still not normal. |
Charline Dye 30.08.2011 | Sounds like u have a defective fader. You are saying the fader on the screen moves not the one on the S4. (that would be really strange lol) I would get with NI and get that fixed! I have seen other threads where faders were bad. I can't tell if my problem is hardware or software though. I guess I'll wait till 2.1 comes out and see if the problem goes away. |
Rosina Steinkuehler 30.08.2011 | While not exactly what you are seeing I have noticed my S4 right channel fader has grown it's own brain. What I mean by that is that it moves up and down on it's own about a quarter of an inch. After tapping the slide a bit it stops. But it has been occurring more often than not which makes me wonder what is going on. I have nothing mapped to the volume faders so I am kinda like |
