S4 loop size encoder problems
Posted on: 26.09.2011 by Glennis Cartin
So, my shiney three week old S4 how has problems.

While practicing just now, my left hand loop size encoder does not respond to rotation at all. The encoder still responds to the push, just not the rotation.

I've already reset all S4 settings, and restarted Traktor as well as setting everything back to default... so presumably I'm looking at a hardware problem?

Any help would be appreicated!

Cheers

I was just jamming and was believe the entire time how I wish I had the effects section of a DJM800. A lot more intuitive than the S4 in my opinion - however I have no moneys I so believe I'll have to stay where I am!

My warranty should be good though, the S4 is less than three weeks old...

Update on the problem - the faulty encoder seems to intermittently give out MIDI when the encoder is turned, however it only seems to give out the clockwise signal, even when the knob is turned anti-clockwise.....

Curious.

Also: The MIDI light in Traktor does not light up when I move the faulty encoder - yet every other control does.

Time to file a ticket with NI I believe...
