Suggestions for S4 and problems with cold temperature Posted on: 24.10.2011 by Angelique Fowell My S4 freezes up and won't work in cold temperature. Any suggestions? | |
Angelique Fowell 24.10.2011 | My S4 freezes up and won't work in cold temperature. Any suggestions? |
Charline Dye 26.10.2011 | That was probably it then. Warm meeting cold = condensation along with high humidity in the air adding to it. Maybe next time allow the s4 to reach ambient temp in the car slowly and keep it covered untill performance time. At least that should help. |
Angelique Fowell 26.10.2011 | "Was the humidity high? Foggy? Or as some one suggested condensation earlier, was the S4 moved from a warmer temp to the cooler one soon before it was used?" I would definitely say those were all factors. condensation and cold temp. from warm to cold. |
Charline Dye 26.10.2011 | No problem. Just trying to eliminate the usual culprits. I still find it very odd that temperature of 62f would cause a problem with the S4, but stranger things have happened lol. Was the humidity high? Foggy? Or as some one suggested condensation earlier, was the S4 moved from a warmer temp to the cooler one soon before it was used? |
Angelique Fowell 27.10.2011 | I have optimized for DJing and I run the DJTT script for optimization. Like I said this has never happened before and now works fine at home. The only conditions that changed was the weather. I have have also read a community on Native about this problem. So I'm not the only one with this problem. I really do not feel like it was the software or my PC. I appreciate the help though. |
Charline Dye 26.10.2011 | If tracks stopped playing, and you couldn't controll the software with the S4 or your keyboard and mouse, then I'm fairly sure it was computer/ software related. Are you using a PC? And if so, have you optimized it for DJing, have you ran the DPC latency checking program? Etc. |
Angelique Fowell 25.10.2011 | it was outside and its hard to tell weather it was the controller or the software. It only happened that once and the next day at home It worked perfect. |
Iliana Seanor 25.10.2011 | Without having evidence of this, it may be due to temperature differences that give condensation! I ruined an iPhone running with it on my arm in -12 C. |
Charline Dye 25.10.2011 | I also don't believe 62f would make the S4 have problems. Is it the S4, or is it the software freezing up? |
Tennie Dornburg 25.10.2011 | i've djed in blazing 100+ Fahrenheit heat with my s4 in the sun and the platters stopped working. were you djing outside? maybe that could be the reason? 62 degrees doesnt really sound that crazy? |
Cindie Brodskaya 25.10.2011 | It's probably colder than 17C/62F in my room where I keep my S4, I'd guess it is probably more to do with the hardware itself than the temperature, may want to get it checked out. |
Angelique Fowell 25.10.2011 | California cold 17 degrees celsius |
Latoria Kavulich 24.10.2011 | Norway. Cold |
Charline Dye 24.10.2011 | Where were you playing that was cold enough to affect the S4? Meat locker, walk in freezer? Just kidding, but really where were u and how cold was it? |
Mandy Lupone 24.10.2011 | Haha, epic answer! But i played in a evening club where it was really cold at the start, but did not have any problems. How cold are talking about? in celcius, since im in Norway And here its Fokking cold sometimes:P |
Deeann Cheron 24.10.2011 | Move somewhere sunny. |
