S2 has no Auxiliary jack, look for something else? Hey guys, So, I'm a total noob to this whole deal, so please be patient, and I'll try to learn quick. I recently DJed my first dance at my high school, and it went well except for the SNAFUs that come with the first DJ gig. Using Mixxx at first it was going ok, but then it crashed. God bless my friend for backing me up with his computer and eventually we just ran the dance off of ITunes. Not a prime choice, but it by the end, people were telling me that I did a great job! And now, I realize that if I want to make money through this, I need software and a controller, and since my friend has the sound system, I believe i'll be set with that. But I'm trying to find a board. Since I'm all digital, I was going to use Traktor Pro 2 as my software, on my 64 bit, HP Pavilion (DV6). The possibilities are more endless with Pro2 than with Serrato, IMO. I've used the demos of both, and Traktor is slightly less stable, but more versatile. So this brings me to the board/controller... I almost convinced my parents to let me get the Kontrol S2, but after my dad did some research I found out that the S2 doesn't have an auxiliary input jack. For me and my dad, this was a big red flag, considering that if my computer crashes, it'd be nice to be able to use my IPod to take over till my computer comes back. Researching around, I am having trouble finding quality alternatives that are as classy as the S2. When all is said and done, my main requirements are: 1) less than 600 Dollars 2) 2 deck control (Although this is standard, I thought I should mention it) 3) auxiliary input jack (preferably with a preamp but not required) 4) less than like 15 pounds, but I'd be ok with 20 if it's a really good board 5) easy to use, quick to learn, versatile and the least important: 6) classy as can be. (I'll manage if it looks ugly, don't worry haha) So, if anyone has any suggestions, or wants to recommend better products than what I'm looking at, feel free to go right ahead!
