Lag with traktor s2 while playing two tracks at once.. why? Posted on: 23.04.2012 by Jaleesa Zheng So i just purchased a brand new macbook pro in december, along with traktor s2 which includes traktor pro 2.When i first played with it, id have two tracks playing side by side. No problem. After a couple months go by, i download some more applications for my macbook, now it seems like i can't play two tracks at the same time without it lagging. The demo tracks play fine together, when its same time. But when i try and play two different tracks that i download from sound cloud, it never works, just starts to lag. Then i try 1 track from sound cloud and demo track thats included with the traktor software, still lags. Does this happen to anybody else? I don't know why this would be happening. I haven't experienced this problem before, just happened all of a sudden, do i need to download something from NI website? Like a update or patch? I bought this mbp from guitar center along with s2 all in same day, and they said it would run traktor fine. Not sure if its my computer or maybe my settings in trakto? is there any settings in traktor that could cause the two tracks not being able to play side by side at the same time? They are long tracks from sound cloud.com one is 62 minutes the other is 102 minutes long. Which in my mind aren't that long and should have this problem, when people have 6 hour long mixes up on sound cloud. I don't know why this is happening all of a sudden and it bothers me that the track B is like glitching, laggin. It can't play smoothly. | |

Jaleesa Zheng 26.04.2012 | I figured it out thanks again. |
Deeann Cheron 26.04.2012 | The answer to all your problems is THIS |
Jaleesa Zheng 26.04.2012 | I have the tracks under "preparation" folder. How do i create a new folder and move them over, i try and click the not assigned folders but i won't let me use it. |
Nedra Fresneda 25.04.2012 | Sort your collection by duration, they should all pop up together. |
Jaleesa Zheng 25.04.2012 | Yeah i want to delete those "sets" from traktor list. I can't figure out how to get rid of those really long mixes. I just believe its because they are so long. Like they said, traktor is made for like 5 minute songs not a 102 minute song on Deck b. Then a 60 minute song on Track A, thats probably a lot of work for traktor to keep up with. Thats my guess. |
Ricki Markman 25.04.2012 | Jesus that beat grid must be all messed up. |
Adrian Zadrozny 24.04.2012 | Check your latency settings in Traktor as well. |
Jaleesa Zheng 23.04.2012 | Yeah no idea. I can jump around on the beat grip it all shows up on the beat grid, just starts to lag, it will be playing then it will jump back a couple beats and continue playing. Im like eww i can't record this. Well i gotta go to work, so ill screw with it late toevening . Thanks for the quick response. |

Jaleesa Zheng 23.04.2012 | Alright thanks, i believe thats the reason, they're really long. When i do tracks with not so long time, they work flawless. Appreciate the response, i won't try to mix two long "sets" lol. How come sound cloud only has sets and not just "songs" |
Harley Zitka 24.04.2012 | 102 minutes is not a "track"... it's a set. Traktor is DJ software and tracks are single songs. Purchase and download individual songs, and mix them. |
Earleen Alpine 23.04.2012 | In my experience 102 minutes is _VERY_ long for a track in traktor. Traktor is designed to primarily play single tracks (read: 5-15 mins) and for traktor to analyze and play a 102 min file at the same time as a 62 min file is just torture for the software. And on the other hand, why would you play 102 min tracks? That just sounds obnoxious. |
