First time hooking S4 up to professional sound / powered speakers. Tips?
Hey everyone. I've been bedroom DJing at home with my S4 just hooked up to computer speakers. At work I use serrato with pioneer CDJs and a pioneer DJM. All the wiring is supplied with me through the company so its a non-issue.

However, I've recently been booked to fly to BC to DJ a wedding for a coworker (crazy..). Anyways, for this gig I'm taking my S4 and her macbook with the music library from work on it. Because of the location, they're renting a mic and speakers there, and I'm going to hook up into them. Having never seen them before I'm not sure what I'm dealing with. All the mixers I use at work use XLRs, however the S4 only runs RCA and 1/4" out.

Whats my best option here? Pickup some RCA to XLR, or 1/4" to XLR adaptors? What is most reliable for sound and the speakers? Is there a difference? Should XLR only be used with one or the other? Should I ask them to get RCA-input powered speakers or 1/4" instead?

I don't know much about the audio engineering side of things so I'm not too sure what to do. Since I'm flying to BC for this I can't really bring too much, and if it goes south I'm stuck with no resources so I need to get it right ahead of time. I can do a dry run at the office if need be.

Having not used traktor or my S4 too much (have maybe 6 hours on it) I'm feeling a little rattled. It is "club" level gear, I just want to make sure I get it right. Any help is greatly appreciated. I cannot screw this up!
