| Adelle Balu 18.09.2010 | Thanks for listening to the mix and your comments xolunt. I am glad that you enjoyed it and liked some of the tracks. This is not the kind of music I usually play either, as this is too mainstream for my taste as well. As for your comments about the bass being soft at that one point and the song ending early: I was not able to prepare much for this mix and I did not know any of the songs before. I was given the list at 6pm and I had to play the set at midevening
for my friend's birthday. I got only about 6 hours to listen to all the 30 songs, decide which I was going to put in my hour-mix, cue them up, drive to the party, set up my gear
, and play the mix. Hahahaha. Talk about a hectic headache! As for the first two songs: Yes, the names of the songs came as an added pun to the mix. The second song mixes in at 5:33 and its bassline suddenly "takes over control" over "take control." Hahahaha. Sort of made sense to me, and this also explains why I used "Take Control" as the first song. |
| Yevette Matatall 17.09.2010 | Zencapop, Just had a listen to the mix - I like it as the tracks are a little more mainstream then what I pay and I need to get more tracks like this. At one point my itunes started playing in the background, it dropped a beat a little earlier before it started going out of sync, at first i thought it was your mix, I was believeing "what is this guy "believeing" then I realized. I found it amusing that the titles of your first two tracks suit, did this play a part in the selection. As far as criticism is concerned, i found the intro track a little drawn out, it didnt really grab me, I personally place a lot of importance here in my mixes. (ive only been mixing 1 year, so take that with a grain of fairy dust) @ 31:07 I kinda expected the bass to drop a little harder, It may just be my speakers. @ 47: 27 where you moving into the breakdown, it felt like you pulled the last vocal of out going track a little early, I felt if it had of echoed a little longer it would have been better. Like I said, I enjoyed it, I am at this moment adding a few of the trtacks to my beatport bin.... Feel free to pull my latest mix apart. |
