Reply to which external sound card to record mixes?

hi all
my bropther is a vinyl dj and is looking to record his sets. what would be the best way to do this?
he's believeing of buying a laptop and i said he would probably need a usb or firewire audio capture device for the best results. there seems to be a lot of choice and quite a price range. the audio4dj looks good but is a little pricey at 165 quid.

any sugestions?
