Making a mix more exciting

Hello,

I am new to dj'ing and i got beatmatching down pretty well......however my mixes just sound as such, songs linked together. I was wondering what do the people on DJ Techtools do to make their mixes more exciting

Do live mashups, use creative elements (white noise, rock music, samples), and use the new Delay trick on the blog using your KP3.
