First Mix - Dubstep

I got into the groove a little later on with it. This is literally my starting point. I've had the turntables for just over 6 months now, but I've only had Serato for just over a week. There are a couple points where I'm not happy with it, but overall, considering I just got everything hooked up to record this afternoon... I'm pleased that I was actually able to record something and hear it back. Just mindlessly mixing is all well and good, but it's nice hearing where I need to improve different aspects. Please feel free to leave any comments and critique. I know from this point on will be improvements, but would love to hear of any specific spots you'd like. (I tried posting it on soundcloud, but apparently it got flagged for copyright infringement with Def Jam recordings. Bullshit, but whatever) I know there are a couple nasty transitions, and I need to work on my gain work a bit. | |

| Audrey Pinda 03.12.2011 | Thanks man Really appreciate the feedback, seriously. Yeah, trying to work in some of my "fun" tracks. I've been working on collecting a playlist of them in iTunes that are just shit that is classy and groovy to mix in. Selection is my strongpoint I believe, it's just a matter of working on the technical skills. Vaski - Storm Chaser was my bad point in the mix overall IMO. Though to be honest, that was the track where I got distracted by the woman and had to explain to her (for the first time ever!) that I was recording and to STFU :P |
