| Kenton Almeyda 21.01.2013 | I listened to this disk today while cutting cucumbers and then eating tempeh with peanut sauce and cucumber salad for lunch. Here's my feedback. - Thanks for the tracklist and download link! - Regarding the track selection.. I don't care for this style of very minimal/unchanging dj tool techno, and I especially don't like it when each track is played for a long time. I was a little worried when I saw the mix was techno and 6 tracks in 30 minutes. None of the tracks seemed to have any progressive element or anything for a listener to "hold onto." To me this sort of music begs out to be mixed quickly and with heavy EQ to give it more personality. I did not hear any obvious long layering in the mixes or any cutting or EQ tricks. - Levels were generally ok. Phasing was fine, is this a traktor mix or something with sync? Phrasing was essentially non-applicable due to the style of music in question. Mix began at a 6 in energy level and stayed around there. I prefer more of an intro and outro and a variation in energy level over the course of 30 minutes. 30 minutes is a good length for a mix. Thanks for posting, and keep at it! |
