Thanks manhooei!

Full apologies nubz69, I have posted a lot of my previous work on these community s and if you have a look at my soundcloud I have over 20 pieces of work up. The thread title was a bit of a jibe about how the tracks that 'aren't so good' seem to get more feedback/comments on here

This is a pretty well done track. Personally I would like the vocals to be 1-3db louder. I know it's supposed to sound distant and pushed back in the mix but I believe I want it to be just a hair more prominent. I wouldn't say it's something that has to be done, just something I would try to see if I liked it more or less.

Oh, and don't go around saying something is your first track when it isn't. The feedback you will get will actually be less effective because your audience will believe you are an absolute beginner. If you want serious critical responses so you can improve your skills, then just tell people to be as critical as possible and be ready for what you may hear back.

Okay, I've made some changes and uploaded to the same link, perks of a premium account ey. I've put the verb kick in but its quite subtle and I've played with the panning quite a bit, and changed how the vocal sits a little. The stuff regarding to melody changes I couldn't do since a lot of the project is bounced to audio with my computer refusing to paly the project with it being so shitty

Ah man, I feel bad. This isn't my first production I just said it to get some legit feedback, I guess it worked though so thanks a lot. I've already sent this in for release however I'll make some changes and get the new version sent over. Going out in half an hour but I'll get cracking on the changes tomorrow!

Thanks for the help and thanks for the positive comments everyone

I like the elements of the tune, but I believe it needs a little polish to make it all work together.

The beat is great, you have a great skippy rolling rhythm with a really nice kick... I believe I would prefer that the sweeping snare noise that is introduced at the start wasn't completely on the left speaker as it is a great sound but I don't believe it has enough presence on only one speaker.

When you enter a new section and drop the bass I would like to hear a heavily reverbed kick to carry you over to the next section.

The vocals sound great and suck you into listening to them and from being pitched down it really fits the mood of the bass line but I would like it if you slightly filtered or eq'd them so they weren't so present in the mix and took over the rhythm.

Also finally I would like if the melody was raised at the end on every odd phrase to carry you along, you seem to be repeating the same notes twice every phrase if you move the last note in the key up a third of fifth it should really give the melody some movement and raise up the listener. The great thing I find about melancholy minor keys is you can meet the listener at a low point which we can all identify with, but you can then lift them up when you have them gripped by a song

I am only being so picky because I believe you have done a great effort for your first tune and I believe this could be a great song for a downtempo techno or deep house set. Keep at it you have real talent
