Reply to BPM pulsing LED mod issue

I did the LED mod as instructed in Ean's video, but for some reason the light goes out on the downbeat and lights up on the off-beat, i.e. the opposite of what I would expect it to do:

Is that the normal behavior or did I do something wrong?
