Reply to MF Noob; Input not indicated

So my girlfriend got me an MF for my birthday (Apr 3) and I just got it in a couple of days ago, I was super excited only to find out that my computer recognizes it, the buttons respond but it won't show up on neither Ableton or Traktor (Ableton won't indicate an Input at all)
After searching through the community s I found the firmware update (Which gave me problems at the bootloader part too; I fixed that an succesfully updated :eek But it still won't show on Ableton.
I'm just an old fashioned DJ with two turntables and a mixer and have never used MIDI so theres probably something I'm doing wrong, but this is also why I joined the community s.
Any help is useful! Thanks!!

Also, I am using a Windows XP PC for the moment
