Viable Axis Apologies if this is already been asked/answered, I searched but couldn't find it. I'm on the verge of ordering a MidiFighter 3D for a project I'm working on, but what I want to do with it is perhaps slightly unusual and I need to check that it will actually work before I spend any money. Basically, I'm building a MIDI guitar from scratch. It will have no traditional pickups, no acoustic properties, and wil be more or less just a neck, some strings and a Roland GK-2 MIDI pickup. Below where the strings get plucked I'm going to mount a MidiFighter 3D. (see picture) guitar4.jpg (image hacked from a picture of a homemade guitar by Raoul Sinier. Cabling is purely for effect.) So, here's the question: if a MidiFighter 3D is in this orientation, edge down, face forwards, will it produce MIDI information when rotated by moving the guitar head up or down? Picture wearing the guitar with strap, stood up. I'd be pressing a button (or playing a MIDI note on the strings), then bending/modulating the note by pulling the hand that is holding the neck up and down. Do that make sense? I am believeing it can, I can almost see it working on that axis in the promo video, but if someone could just confirm then I'll make the purchase :-) | |
