3D: only a few commands from mapping are working Posted on: 09.12.2012 by Santana Bergmann Having a hard time setting up my 3D. Just got it and none of the mappings seem to be working fully. I got the MF3D DeckGratMotion mapping to work partially on traktor. The play pause works, the shift works, & the filter works. None of the other notes work. Even when traktor detects the controller and those particular notes, they don't seem to do anyting. | |

| Libbie Orion 10.12.2012 | it would have to be in one mapping my friend You would have to recreate the mappings and combine them on your own end. MAN what a task that would be. You might want to talk to Beau to see if he can do that for you but it might cost a couple pennies. As for the "4 effects settings" that Stewe is talking about. Its the same setting i mentioned above. Look at your configuration settings. Ther is a page in there which asks ( 2 effects / 4 effects ) and you check the appropriate box next to them. You have to have 4 effects setup for this. Its in Traktor Pro settings not MF Utility Not in controller editor |
| Kellie Myrum 10.12.2012 | I'm not MF3d user to tell for sure but if mapping comes with 'other preferences and settings' make sure to import it as well and if not change FX settings at preferences > Effects > Effect Unit Routing. |
| Santana Bergmann 10.12.2012 | I'm not really sure what that implies. How do I do that? One more question: Is there an easy way of combining the grats mapping and the BeauBryte mapping. I mostly use 2 decks, I like the fx on the grats mapping and I like the cue point juggling capabilities from BeauBryte's mapping. So, I figured why not have the fx and cue points on bank 1 and 2 for deck A and the 3 an 4 for deck B. Is there an easy way of doing this, or would I have to do it one mapping at a time manually? |

| Libbie Orion 10.12.2012 | just out of curiosity (not that i know if it matters but) in my S4 controller settings i have the unit set to 4fxs as opposed to 2effects I cant remember right now where that setting is because im at work but im believeing its where your hangup can be. Also, it seriously sounds like the grat mapping is just not importing correctly even though you said, you imported it twice just to make sure |
| Santana Bergmann 10.12.2012 | Just tried another mapping after flashing the 3D. It works well on all 4 decks! So, the problem seems to be that the DeckGratMotion mapping only works from the first bank. |

| Kellie Myrum 09.12.2012 | Hey avenkat0, Did you try to import some other mapping? The steps you posted are correct so if other mappings don't work properly as well that will result in hardware problem possibility. |
| Libbie Orion 09.12.2012 | What mode is your MF3d set to? 4 banks hold? or other. give the complete description on it since there are two of them pretty similar to eachother i know man.... this is just the begining and its the POA part. I know you are going to get anxious and heated having to answer questions that should be obvious, and you might believe (Why T-F- you wanna ask me that?!) Again, its because we arent sitting there...... so hold tight Right now.. i just finished doing my live show, uploading it, contacting our sponsor, vocalist, and pushing it across the social networks, so since this is my birthday weekend, right about now.. i need to do a couple hours of (NOTHING) ill be back later toevening if you got an answer on that one above |
| Santana Bergmann 09.12.2012 | ok, so here's what I do : Start traktor go to pref - controller setings click big import button import the tsi select controller mapping & effects to import then I do this once more (import tsi using big import button) close pref. the controller icon on the top turns yellow and the CNTRL light next to it glows when I use the 3D The top right button works (play/pause), the filter button works (with motion), and shift works Sometimes even the CNTRL light doesn't glow (but I might've done things in a different sequence this time, though) The most I've gotten to work was almost everything in the first bank (Deck a) but none of the other decks have anything mapped I've tried restarting traktor, flashing the 3d, changing to remix deck firmware and back to standard and all that Thanks for your help man |

It will help out a lot since we cant sit next to you and actually SEE what you are doing Go through the process of importing / adding your MF3D to your traktor setup as well as importing / adding the mapping for the Grat yuo downloaded and when i say go through the steps, what id like you to try is Each time you do a step, type out exactly what you did It should come down to about 8 steps so type them up here, one at a time "AS YOU DO EACH" then move to each next step. This way we can see if you missing something simple or even if yuo are simply clicking the wrong IMPORT button / ADD button as there are two of the IMPORT buttons and there is a right and wrong time to click either of them No worries my man. Im sure we will get you sorted out |
