Monserrate Rupnow 18.05.2012 | Looks like its made by DJ Player, whom I mentioned briefly in the article. There's definitely a lot more out there than the two I focused on, but it's impossible for me to try them all (or pay for them all). I just tried to concentrate the two most popular ones based on feedback from other djs. |
Lacey Volkert 18.05.2012 | Nice write up but you missed two "professional" apps that work much better than these in real world. One is RedBull BPM and I forgot the name of the other one but RedBull BPM is based on that app. |
Danae Dumler 18.05.2012 | Yeah good stuff! I really like djay and want it to succeed; I met the algoriddim guys at CES (along with a guy from Vestax working with them on the Spin) and they were very cool and very interested in what users would want from the software. There are a couple of sound cards available for the ipad that would solve the sound issue and make this a real option for gigging, but none that I know of specifically for DJs. I believe you could probably hook up any USB soundcard if you use the camera adapter kit, which turns the ipad USB jack into a normal slot for USB, but I have no idea what you have to do to djay to get it to recognize the soundcard. |
