delay and freeze problems Posted on: 23.01.2011 by Nicolle Diller ok so i turn on delay and freeze it (1/4 beat echo sounding) then stopp the deck and start a much slower song, ean does it so well and it just blends, but mine gets all funny and warped.. anyone know if this is normal nd how i can get the effect im looking for? | |
Willard Battley 15.06.2012 | Hello everybody I found this thread so I'm posting my question about the delay fx in this one I hope it's fine I try to understand how this delay fx works but I'm not sure at all. To what I understood so far, it's a buffer based fx : so is it the rate button which control the size of the buffer ? If so what mean the different values for example 4/4 : should I interprete it as 4 beats in a raw or 1 beat (4 divided by 4) ? Moreover how long last the fx : is it always the same length or is it also set by the rate button ? Finally I have the feeling that the delay fx in the chain mode is not the same in the advanced mode. Is is due to certain presets values for the feedback and the filter buttons in the chain mode ? You might find my questions very boring or basic but would to really understand how these different fx work in order to know where it it the best to use them. Thank you a lot for your help J |

As for the previous posts, the way the delay(s) work have been changed from 2.1.2 and 2.1.3 as far as I remember and if Im' not mistaken, the delay's trail following much more quicker the new bpm from the new track. That has been previously discussed before I guess. |
Willard Battley 03.07.2012 | Sorry guys I'm again asking the same question but you don't have the feeling that the delay effect in single mode is not the same than in chain mode. For example, in chain mode, when you set the value to 1/32 and press pause, the song echoes out for a very long time whereas it is not the case at all in single mode. I'm trying to reproduce the chain delay effect by playing with the different parameters in single mode but I don't manage. You might ask me why I'm trying to do this and that there is no goal of doing that but it's just to understand better ow this effect works ;-) Thank you for your replies |
Birgit Gondal 15.06.2012 | is there a delay in traktor that operates in Hz as opposed to being beatsynced? that could be an alternative... |

Nicolle Diller 30.01.2011 | yeah the problem is that when i want to change from a house track to something slower like hip hop (130-100bpm), freeze doesnt work like i wish it does, maybe ill record something and show you |

Verdie Zabransky 30.01.2011 | I've got the same issue... I'll do a recording of what it sounds like.. Strange thing is it works fine on TPro but not on my S4 Software and everything appears to be set the same :-/ As soon as the master switches from the outgoing to the incoming deck you get a really weird effect.... |
Marnie Molzon 29.01.2011 | Was a solution to this issue ever found? Ean's tutorial makes is sound smooth as warm butter, but in practice it ends up sounding like an epileptic kid playing with the pitch fader. |

Have you tried setting the slower deck as master before using the delay effect to transition? |

You have to keep the faster deck playing hike you do the transition to maintain it as the master bpm OR you can manually set the deck with the faster track to always be the Master bpm |
Nicolle Diller 23.01.2011 | faster song, so i start the slower one and it immediatly jumps.... |
Nedra Fresneda 23.01.2011 | my guess is it's assigned to the playing deck and then switches when second deck starts |
