We are in the process of restarting our sucessful Open Decks evening
in East London - we are looking for DJs of all genres and playing styles who want a chance at getting their name out there, or even pros who want a chance to try out new tunes and have a good laugh with a good crowd.
Date TBC but will be next month.
Post your demo mixes here, we are auditioning mixes right now so show us what you can do!
you'll be fine then. east london is a bit cliquey music wise, there's not really a lot of love for laptops & controllers with most of the underground evening
s & djs mostly spinning proper records and the occasional CD. as long as you do a bit of research, you'll be fine.
I appreciate the advice man, I'll definitely look more into it.
i actually have a fairly large disco house library, and a decent deep and progressive library as I play at a lot of lounges back home. Either way, op said that he wanted all kinds of electronic music, so that was my submission

i don't know what type of music you would describe that as but that's not the sort of stuff that goes down well in east london generally. i believe you'd get kicked off the decks in most places. i'm not trying to be dismissive of your music, each to their own, but if you do a bit of research into the different evening
s that use the horse & groom you'll find them to be more house / deep house / disco orientated.

To the OP, I am really interested in getting involved in one of your evening
s, can you tell me if spinning on an S2 is OK or would you prefer vinyl/Cd's?
I will be doing a few mixes this week so will send some over to you when they are complete.
I work in East London so no problem with getting there whatever time I am needed.

here is my efforts, this is from our monthly mix show Digital Symphony run by myself and a friend. Im on hour two but we often just hit the decks back 2 back. This mix is very deep and tech house focused but we often do some progressive mixes and can knock out a good uplifting trance mixes when we are in the mood
im fairly new to djaying but am a psytrance dj ive got a few mixes on soundcloud but have improved since then so gonna record a few new mixes and will link them on here
